In 2025, Karavan Publishing released WASHINGTON DC, a personal guidebook by Maria Bouroncle and Karin Henriksson.

MARIA BOURONCLE moved to Washington, D.C., in 2002. She published her first book in 2018 and now works as an author, lecturer, and writing teacher. A longtime resident of Georgetown, she cherishes the city’s springtime—when the magnolias bloom, the crickets sing, and Washingtonians seem just a bit friendlier than usual.

KARIN HENRIKSSON arrived in Washington in the late 1980s and has since reported for numerous Swedish media outlets and authored several books on American politics. Her favorite month is October, when Rock Creek Park—just below her desk in Cleveland Park—bursts into brilliant autumn colors.
