Burleith resident, Maria Bouroncle was born in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1965 and spent the summers, until she was eight, with her grandparents and her Aunt Ingeborg in a small village called Molla. She remembers her Aunt Ingeborg with love, a chubby older woman who enjoyed playing cards, making cakes, weaving, and biking.

Maria Bouroncle is a Swedish author. An economist by profession, she spent over 25 years in the field of international development before publishing her first novel in 2018. It Came to Me on a Whim has been translated into several languages and is currently used on the Scandinavian Crime Literature course at UCLA.
